When discussing blockchain, it is important to remember that wallets are completely anonymous. On Ergo, you do not know who owns a particular wallet. Due to all transactions being public, this is an important aspect of blockchain wallets - if you know who owns a wallet, you can see all of their assets, transactions and any other wallets that they interact with.

That being said, there are situations when it might be handy, or even necessary, to prove who has access to a certain wallet. One possible scenario is when interacting with games on the blockchain. A common situation can arise when tokens are used as game elements, and only players owning certain tokens can participate in specific actions. How can it be known if a player actually has access to a wallet that they pretend to have?

In this situation, games can only rely on asking the player to make a transaction from the wallet owning the token in question. This approach has some obvious drawbacks: the player has to make a transaction and pay transaction fees, and the transaction may take several minutes to mine.

To help with this issue, Ergo core developers proposed ***EIP-0028 ErgoAuth***. It is already implemented in Appkit, Ergo’s SDK, and will be integrated in the upcoming release 1.9 of the Ergo Wallet App.

ErgoAuth bypasses the need to make a transaction on the blockchain by defining a similar protocol directly between a wallet application and a server run by the party in need to authenticate a user. It works as follows:

* The game (or dApp, website, etc.), wanting to check if a user has access to a certain wallet, shows a QR code to scan with a wallet app - or presents a button to open a wallet application.
* This will make the wallet application contact the game’s server and request specific information. The wallet needs to know what address the user should authenticate, as there can be multiple addresses.
* The wallet application will present the user a screen and ask if they want to prove access. When the user confirms, the wallet application will sign the message sent by the game server with the private keys and send the signed message back.
* The game server can now check (by using Appkit or its own implementation) if the proof sent by the user is valid and that the user has access to the wallet.

Ergo’s EIP-0028: ErgoAuth

In this article, we continue our series of guides for setting up and using one of the many new Ergo wallets. For this demonstration, we explore SAFEW (Simple and Fast Ergo Wallet), the 2nd Place winner of ErgoHack III. This web extension wallet offers several features, including ErgoPay, seamless interaction with ErgoDEX, ErgoMixer integration, Ledger hardware wallet integration (awaiting approval from Ledger developers), token minting, and the ability to send multi-asset transactions. When using the ErgoPay feature, the mnemonic seed phrase is stored on another device and transactions are signed in Ergo Wallet (iOS/Android) via QR code.

## Installing SAFEW

In order to install this wallet, you need to download the latest version from GitHub: [GitHub - ThierryM1212/SAFEW: Simple And Fast Ergo Wallet](https://github.com/ThierryM1212/SAFEW). Please note, Firefox users can access the download here: <https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/safew/>.

Once “Developer mode” is initiated, you will select “Load Unpacked” to install the necessary files.

Click on the unzipped “SAFEW_0.4.6” folder and hit “Select.”

Now that we have loaded the wallet, let’s open it. Go to your extensions (the puzzle piece near the top right corner of your browser) and open the wallet (“Simple and Fast Ergo Wallet”). You will then be prompted to accept the disclaimer. After accepting the disclaimer, you will be brought to the following screen.

The two icons that are highlighted in the above image allow you to “Add New Wallet” or “Add a new ErgoPay wallet.” If you select “Add New Wallet,” you will be able to restore an existing wallet or create an entirely new one. With “Add a new ErgoPay Wallet,” a user is able to enable the signing of transactions, where they are signed using the iOS/Android [Ergo Wallet](https://ergoplatform.org/en/mobile_wallets/).

Hovering your cursor over the other icons will indicate their functions. They include:

* Wallet List
* Mint tokens
* [ErgoMixer](https://ergoplatform.org/blog/2021-05-12-ergomixer/)
* Disconnect Wallets
* Settings

## Creating/Restoring a Wallet

To create or restore a wallet, click on the “Add New Wallet” icon. You will see the following screen:

If you have a preexisting Ergo wallet, you can simply restore it in SAFEW by inputting your mnemonic seed phrase. If you are creating a new Ergo wallet, you will need a new mnemonic seed phrase. In the above image, you will notice the following: “Get random mnemonic.” You have the option of selecting a 12, 15, 18, 21, or 24 word phrase. For the purposes of this demonstration we will select an 18 word mnemonic. Let’s go through the steps for creating a wallet.

Give your wallet a name (we chose “Test Wallet”), write down your mnemonic seed phrase and create a spending password. With SAFEW, you can even choose different colors for your various Ergo wallets.

DISCLAIMER: Never store your password and mnemonic seed phrases digitally. It is best practice to write your mnemonic seed phrase down on paper and store it in a safe and secure place. If you lose access to your wallet, the mnemonic seed phrase is the ONLY way to recover your assets.

Once you have created your new wallet, you will see the following:

* Wallet details - selecting this icon will display your receiving address. This is the address you give out to receive Ergo assets.
* Send assets - this feature brings you to a screen (see below) where you can input a receiving address and select assets to send to another Ergo wallet or dApp. 
* Transactions list - will simply display all the transactions that have occurred with this wallet.
* Edit wallet - options to change your password, wallet name and receiving address. You can also convert the wallet to an ErgoPay wallet, backup the wallet, or delete the wallet.

## Other SAFEW Features

As was mentioned earlier, users can expect Ledger integration as soon as work has been completed on the Ledger side. This wallet also allows for the use of ErgoMixer, however you must install ErgoMixer on your computer in order to access it with SAFEW. When you click on the ErgoMixer icon in SAFEW, it will prompt you with the necessary link for installation.

If you are interested in minting tokens (including NFTs) on Ergo, SAFEW offers a simple and easy-to-use interface. When you click on the “Mint token” icon, you will see the following:

You will give your token a name, description and select the amount to be minted. If you are minting a picture, audio, or video, you will need to indicate that from the “Token type” dropdown menu. From there, you will be prompted to provide the upload details for the respective artwork.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will offer how-to guides for each of these new wallets so that all users, new and existing, can feel comfortable and confident navigating the various Ergo wallets.

### Installation

The Nautilus Wallet is currently only available for chromium based browsers. For the purposes of this demonstration, we will go through the setup in Google Chrome.

3. A pop-up will appear and prompt you to **Add extension**.

### Opening Nautilus Wallet

1. Whenever you want to get to your Nautilus Wallet, you simply access the extension tab on your web browser (it looks like a puzzle piece in the top right corner of the browser).

3. When opening Nautilus Wallet for the first time, you will be prompted to read and acknowledge the KYA - Know Your Assumptions.

4. Scroll to the bottom of the KYA and select **I UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT THE KYA**.

5. Once you have accepted the KYA, you will be shown three options:

* **Create Wallet**
* **Restore Wallet**
* **Load Read-Only Wallet**

If you have previous experience with Ergo wallets, you can restore your wallet in Nautilus with your seed phrase. If you have any pre-existing Ergo wallets, you can also decide to use Nautilus as a read-only wallet by inputting your public key. If this is your first time using an Ergo Wallet, then you will select Create Wallet.

### Creating a Wallet and Understanding the Features

When creating a wallet for the first time, there are a few important security rules to practice. The most important thing is to write your password and seed phrase on paper only. Do not store this information digitally, and do not take photos of it. Your seed phrase is your line of defense against bad actors. If anyone was able to get access to your seed phrase, they could take control of your wallet and all the assets you have stored in it.

After selecting **Create Wallet**, you will see a screen where you can name your wallet, create your password and write down your recovery seed phrase. It will look like this:

It may seem obvious, but your seed phrase will be different from the one you see in the image above. 

REMINDER: Write your seed phrase and password on paper. You can make several copies and store them in safe places.

After creating your password and storing your recovery seed phrase, you will select **Confirm** and see the following:

* The **Assets** tab will display your ERG, NFTs and other native tokens.
* The **Receive** tab will display the address you share to receive any Ergo assets.
* The **Send** tab will allow you to input a receiving address so that you can send Ergo assets/payment to another wallet.

When preparing to receive assets, you will see the following screen after selecting the **Receive** tab:

Your receiving address will appear as a series of numbers and letters, similar to the address in the above image. If this is your first time using an Ergo wallet (or any other crypto wallet), please note that your address will be completely different from the one you see in the image.

If you are sharing your receiving address, you simply copy it to your computer clipboard and send it to the person or smart contract you are interacting with. You can easily copy the address by clicking on the two overlapping squares at the end of the address.

When sending assets to a person, exchange or smart contract, you will see the following:

You will input the receiving address of the person, exchange, smart contract, etc. Then, you will select the asset (it could be ERG, a native token, an NFT, etc.) and input how much you are sending. To complete the transaction, you type your wallet password and then select Confirm. That’s it! This is how you send and receive assets in the Nautilus Wallet.

There are a few more features to be aware of as you become more familiar with the interface of the wallet. You can access more options by clicking on the wallet name in the top right corner of the application.

After clicking on the wallet name, you will initially have four (4) options:

* **Add new wallet** - simply allows you to add additional Ergo wallets
* **Expand view** - allows you to view the application as a full web page
* **Settings** - additional settings that we will discuss below.
* **About** - provides application information and an Ergo wallet receiving address to contribute financial support to the continuing development of the wallet.

If you use this wallet to interact with any decentralized applications (dApps), you will see a fifth option **(Connected dApps)** that will allow you to control which dApps are connected to your wallet.

Let’s take a look at the **Settings** option. As was mentioned earlier in this guide, the Nautilus Wallet has some unique privacy features.

As you can see from the above image, there is a **Privacy mode** option. When you turn on this feature, your wallet will create a new receiving address for every new transaction. In other words, whenever you receive any assets, the next time you go to copy your receiving address, (under the **Receive** tab) you will be provided with a completely new address. This feature makes it more difficult for bad actors or invasive entities to track your activity on the blockchain. Enabling this feature offers more privacy with regards to your finances.

Additional features allow you to hide previously used receiving addresses and to adjust the ERG conversion to your preferred fiat currency.

Storing Crypto on Ergo: Nautilus Wallet

When it comes to storing your ERG, traditionally Yoroi has been the main choice for many Ergonauts. In the last year, developer MrStahlfelge undertook the initiative to create another option for the community: the Ergo Android Wallet. This wallet has become a popular choice among Android users and recently MrStahlfelge began work to port this wallet to Apple’s iOS. The wallet is now ready and this greatly increases the market share of smartphone users who can now access a mobile ERG wallet. 

If you are an iPhone user, you will be familiar with downloading applications from the App Store directly on your device. For the time being, you will have to add one extra step when downloading the iOS Ergo Wallet. MrStahlfelge recently explained on [Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/ergonauts/comments/rkpnck/christmas_is_coming_and_ios_ergo_wallet_app_10_is/) that the extra step is due to the fact that an official Apple Developer Account is needed to release the wallet from the beta version on the App Store. 

It is reasonable to expect that this new iOS wallet will be directly available from the App Store in the near future, but for the time being the extra step in the process is negligible in procuring your new Ergo Wallet on an iPhone. We will guide you through the process.

**Step 1:**

To access beta applications on your iPhone you will need to download Testflight here: <https://testflight.apple.com/join/MRyG2qfm>.

From here, choose “Start Testing” for the Ergo Wallet and you will be guided to download the application. That’s it! You now have the iOS Ergo Wallet app on your iPhone!

Once installed, you will have the option of creating a new Ergo wallet, restoring a pre-existing wallet, or viewing a pre-existing wallet in read-only mode.

If you use the application to create a new Ergo wallet, you will be guided through the steps of writing down your 15-word mnemonic phrase. Once the wallet is created and you are issued the wallet’s address, you have the option of securing the keys to this wallet via password encryption (a spending password) or in the device's keychain.

After choosing how you would like to secure the keys to the wallet, you have successfully installed and created a new Ergo wallet on your iOS device. From here, you can access the mobile wallet to send and/or receive ERG. Remember to securely store your mnemonic phrase and spending password in a safe place and never make digital copies of this information. Good old fashioned pen and paper is the more secure way to protect anyone from accessing your Ergo wallet.

iOS Ergo Wallet: How-To Guide

Hello Ergonauts! We would like to announce that the Ergo Android Wallet now has a “Cold Wallet” option - one of the most secure ways to store ERG coins. A Cold Wallet works similarly to a hardware wallet, which means it works as a closed system without an internet connection. 



You can securely sign your transactions with your non-connected Android device. Because it is not connected to the internet, there is no way that your secrets can get stolen. All desktop/browser/mobile wallets have the same vulnerability: a device that is connected to the internet. With the Cold Wallet however, your device will stay off-line and your wallet will not have a point of entry.



To use your Cold Wallet to send transactions you will of course need an internet connection, but you use a separate gateway device that does not access the secrets of your Cold Wallet. This gateway device can be your daily device (or hot wallet) so that you will be able to send funds from your Cold Wallet to any address.



The Cold Wallet functions off-chain so that you will not need internet for your Cold Wallet device. When functioning off-chain, your Cold Wallet will produce single-time QR codes to verify your transaction via the use of your gateway wallet. Using your gateway wallet and one-time QR codes, you will be securely using the Ergo Platform.

Currently, the Cold Wallet release is reachable only in beta version. Google Play market allows new releases through beta, although it is completely secure to use it.

Ergo Cold Wallet

As the Ergo ecosystem grows, our community can now enjoy the functions for several of our key dApps. Ergo has a stablecoin protocol where users can mint SigUSD and SigRSV tokens. Ergo Auction House offers the ability to mint NFTs and ErgoDEX (Beta) allows you to swap tokens and provide liquidity. These are the very first, unique and complex DeFi dApps on the UTXO model - a model that Bitcoin pioneered. It has often been debated whether the UTXO model can express rich smart contracts, much like the Accounts model. That is why Ergo Platform built the ErgoScript language from scratch in an effort to progress on Bitcoin’s legacy.

As an Ergonaut, you may have experienced some confusion if you have checked the explorer to view your transaction details. The UTXO model is essentially different from the Accounts model via the use of “boxes'' for data-keeping. In the Accounts model, there is a single account where you receive your coins. In the UTXO model however, every tx (transaction) creates a new box and your balance is the sum of all the boxes linked to your addresses.



To be clear, your Yoroi private key can consist of more than one box in a single address to hold your coins.

As you generate a new address, you will create a secondary box to hold your coins. After it is created, you can send funds to this new address and your funds will be seen as one with your private key. You can create an infinite number of new boxes to hold your coins. As such, every receiving and spending action will also create an additional unique box.



This feature can create misconceptions by the user at first glance. When you make a transaction, the network scans your “boxes” to verify if you have your tokens and then initiates the transaction. 



Things get complex after this point because you can not guess which boxes are going to be spent. Imagine you have three different receiving addresses. You received a couple of coins in each of them and you want to spend some of your coins. In a Yoroi wallet, you can hold any Ergo native coins such as SigRSV or SigUSD. When you initiate a transaction that accesses the boxes of these coins, you will see that they are taken away and then redeposited. Recently, an Ergonaut raised the following [question](https://www.reddit.com/r/ergonauts/comments/prn7x3/comment/hdty87z/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3): 



“I just created a Yoroi Nightly wallet. I transferred 31 Erg from my main Yoroi wallet to the Yoroi Nightly wallet. The transaction shows 31 Erg plus a small fee, 0.0011. But it also says +92,000 SigRSV. My balance shows no change in SigRSV. What is the meaning of the +92,000 SigRSV in the transaction?”



Let’s take a look of the details of this particular [transaction](https://explorer.ergoplatform.com/en/transactions/143f5ba0ee1482d332d1020c94f261399f220c7f4523063ade8290c478acbd29):

To make a transaction of 31 ERG,  the wallet selected three of the boxes with ERG:

* A box containing 0.029595 ERG that was received on 07/19/21
* A second box containing 19.76 ERG that was received on 07/19/21
* A third box containing 208.26 ERG that was received on 06/09/21 



On the left section of the image above, you will see approximately 228 ERG taken while on the right section you will see 31 ERG sent and 197 ERG redeposited to your wallet.



So your wallet used three of your boxes to spend the desired amount. This action includes all the assets in that box to the transaction. 



After the desired amount is spent, your funds are simply refunded to your address in a newly created UTXO box or boxes. Spending any coin in a box therefore means spending the whole box and creating a new UTXO box, which is why you see your tokens are taken away and then redeposited.



The selection of which boxes to spend is a secret of the wallet’s random selection strategy. Whatever coins are in the selected boxes, be it SigRSV, SigUSD or NFT, will be displayed as in the example. 



### To sum up: 



The Accounts model contains a single box and this box is not spent. It remains the same so non-related coins will remain unaffected.



The UTXO model on the other hand contains a set of boxes that represents the total amount of the users balance and the unspent transaction output has to change with each spending transaction.

This is just how UTXO model Transaction works - its storage is different from the Accounts model. In the UTXO model, coins will be stored in one-use UTXO boxes and not in long-living accounts.

We’re pleased to announce the release of Ergo’s first mobile wallet! This app was built on top of [Ergo Appkit](https://github.com/aslesarenko/ergo-appkit) - Ergo’s official SDK - and has been [audited by the Ergo team](https://twitter.com/ergoplatformorg/status/1417039106576633857). We’re happy to announce our collaboration with [Tesseract Systems](https://tesseract.one/) through our grants program that is going to provide full integration with the  [Ledger hardware wallet](https://www.ledger.com/). Ledger Integration begins


_There’s often a tension in the crypto world between security and convenience. That trade-off is unacceptable if we want these technologies to be widely used. Here’s how Ergo addresses one common and very important issue._

We all know that the most secure way to use Bitcoin, or any crypto, is to download a copy of the blockchain and run a full node yourself. That way, every time you or anyone else makes a transaction, your client checks the blockchain to ensure it’s valid. You don’t have to trust anyone else.

A full Bitcoin node checks all the blocks in the blockchain (using headers) and makes sure there are no fraudulent transactions. It’s a very secure way of using crypto – but there’s a problem. It requires significant bandwidth, storage and processing power. That kind of commodity hardware is expensive, and using a full node to validate and make transactions is in any case unsuitable for mobile devices. This is particularly true for Bitcoin, where the blockchain is over [270 GB and counting](https://www.blockchain.com/charts/blocks-size).

## SPV

Simplified Payment Verification (SPV) is designed to address this problem, as described in the [Bitcoin white paper](https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf):

- _It is possible to verify payments without running a full network node. A user only needs to keep a copy of the block headers of the longest proof-of-work chain, which he can get by querying network nodes until he's convinced he has the longest chain, and obtain the Merkle branch linking the transaction to the block it's timestamped in. He can't check the transaction for himself, but by linking it to a place in the chain, he can see that a network node has accepted it, and blocks added after it further confirm the network has accepted it._
 
Satoshi notes that this is not a perfect solution, and is vulnerable to an attacker overpowering the network and fooling SPV users.

Moreover, while SPV mode is intended for resource-limited devices, even this ‘lite’ approach is not always feasible. Ethereum’s headers alone total around 5 GB to download. Thus Ethereum mobile clients do not validate chain validity and so blindly have to trust third parties.

There are proposals to reduce the requirements for SPV mode by checking just a few random headers, instead of all of them. But it’s hard to do that securely. 

## Efficient SPV

Several years have been spent researching and developing secure protocols that allow for efficient SPV clients. The two best-known and most reliable protocols are NiPoPoWs and FlyClient.

Ergo implements NiPoPoWs, or Non-interactive Proof-of-Proof-of-Work. This technology can be explored in full on this dedicated website: [https://nipopows.com](https://nipopows.com):

- _Non-Interactive Proofs of Proof-of-Work (NIPoPoWs) are short stand-alone strings that a computer program can inspect to verify that an event happened on a proof-of-work-based blockchain without connecting to the blockchain network and without downloading all block headers. For example, these proofs can illustrate that a cryptocurrency payment was made._

- _NIPoPoWs allow very efficient mobile wallets to be created. [SPV wallets](https://bitcoin.org/en/developer-guide#simplified-payment-verification-spv) are already very lightweight compared to full nodes because they only require the download of block headers, not the whole blockchain. NIPoPoW wallets need to download only a small ***sample*** of block headers, around 250, when SPV clients need to download half a million block headers. The sample needed changes but doesn't grow much in size as the blockchain grows larger by the years, even after decades of data has been accumulated._

This enables us to build a mobile SPV client that requires around __just 100KB__ of block headers to be downloaded.

A super-efficient Ergo wallet with SPV security is in development, so stay tuned for more updates!


Building Ergo: SPV security


## Introduction

[ErgoTool](https://github.com/aslesarenko/ergo-tool) is a command line interface (CLI) for
[Ergo blockchain](https://ergoplatform.org/). You can use ErgoTool without running your
own Ergo node. Even though running a node is the most secure way to communicate with the
Ergo blockchain network, ErgoTool however, aims to provide more foundational tools at
your disposal. Surely, you still can use it with your own running node. 

In this post we will walk through simple steps to generate a mnemonic phrase, create a
local secret storage and use it to send ERGs between addresses, all with the help of
ErgoTool commands.

## Getting Started

First of all we need to install ErgoTool on our system from sources by following the
[installation instructions](https://github.com/aslesarenko/ergo-tool#installation). In the
directory where we cloned ErgoTool there is `ergo-tool.sh` script which we are going to
use to run commands. Run the following command to check ErgoTool is installed correctly.

Let's see what we get here. ErgoTool outputs the error message with the information about
`help` command. This is a typical output of ErgoTool when one of the known commands is
specified, but it is used incorrectly. As we can learn from the message, the `help`
command requires us to specify additional `<commandName>` argument. Also, each command has
an API doc page with all the details about command execution, so its url is shown here.

## Create a New Mnemonic Phrase

Mnemonic is a random sequence of characters which is used to generate a master key
according to [Hierarchical Deterministic
Wallets](https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0032.mediawiki) specification.
For convenience random sequence of english words is used, but this is not required.
Run the following command to generate a new mnemonic phrase:

Write it down on a paper and keep in a safe and secret place. 
As an additional security measure you can create an arbitrary mnemonic password. 
In some sense it can serve like an additional non-vocabulary word in the mnemonic. 
Mnemonic password is optional and is used for additional security.
If you decide to use mnemonic password you should also write it down and keep in a secret and
probably different from mnemonic place. 

**Important, both mnemonic phrase and mnemonic password are required to restore secret keys,
if you lose any of them then you will not be able to regenerate you master key again.**

Next let's use the generated mnemonic to create a storage with a master secret key.

## Create a New Encrypted Storage

For better security neither mnemonic phrase nor password is required by ErgoTool to
perform the transaction signing. Instead, the secret key from the encrypted storage is
required to sign spending transaction. We can generate a secret key and store it in an
encrypted storage using `createStorage` command.

A master secret key is generated from the (mnemonic phrase, mnemonic password) pair and
saved encrypted in the `storage/secret.json` file. Mnemonic itself is not stored in the
file and there is no way to restore it from the file, even if you know the passwords.
 
Please take care to enter correct mnemonic password, the one you chose and saved before.
Since a mnemonic password is optional you can leave it empty by pressing enter.

If you forget the storage password (aka encryption password), you will not be able to use
that storage file anymore, however, you can always restore your secret keys from (mnemonic
phrase, mnemonic password) pair and thus create a new storage file with a new password.

Keep your storage file and storage password in secret, anyone who obtain both your storage
file and storage password will be able to decipher it and access secret keys.

## Extracting Data From Storage

Secret storage contains master secret key and as a result can be used to compute both the
public key and the pay-to-public-key address which correspond to that secret key. The
`extractStorage` command is doing just that.

Here the command transforms the secret key to the corresponding public key and then creates 
the pay-to-public-key address on the mainnet.

The same way we can obtain public key, private key and other data from the storage.

## Listing Unspent Boxes

ErgoTool has the special command to list all available (aka unspent) boxes for a given address.

## Transfer Coins

Now, with secret key stored securely in the encrypted storage file, we can use ErgoTool to
transfer coins from our address to some other recipient address. The command to do that is
`send`.

The storage file is necessary in order to access secret key and generate a signature. The
storage password will be requested by ErgoTool to unlock and decipher the file content.
The command `send` supports the `--dry-run` option which forces ErgoTool to create the
signed transaction, but instead of sending it to the blockchain, ErgoTool prints the
transaction on the console.

Note the "ergoTree" scripts are deserialized and printed as abstract syntax trees. This
printing format can be regulated by additional options so that the scripts can be printed as
human readable ErgoScript. (Not yet implemented, but somewhere on the roadmap.)

If we exclude `--dry-run` option, the transaction will be sent and included in the
blockchain.

The newly created transaction will be broadcast all over the blockchain and miners start
to include it in a new block. Once the new block with our transaction is mined and
accepted by the network our transfer is confirmed and we can [see it in Explorer](https://explorer.ergoplatform.com/en/transactions/c5710af17f5124a232a5ef731fdf94a493025334c2a7d5a79e9923210972b962).

We can also list boxes of the recipient address and see the coin we created among others
(until it is spent by the recipient)

## Security Notes

ErgoTool is created with security in mind and tries its best to safeguard the usage of
sensitive information like mnemonic phrases (which are never stored persistently), 
passwords (which are never shown on the screen) etc. In addition, secret keys are never
stored on local disk unencrypted and surely never sent anywhere.

## Conclusion

ErgoTool is designed to look and feel like a typical CLI utility:

- which is easy to use and fast to run from command line
- can be scriptable via shell scripts
- has built-in usage help 

At the same time ErgoTool is designed to be easily extensible:

- implemented in high-level language Scala
- reuses the core libraries which are used in Ergo network client
- open-sourced and fully documented

This last point is especially important as many new commands can be easily added to
ErgoTool, thanks to its architecture. If you need a specific feature or a command 
please file an issue or maybe even a PR.

The extensibility of ErgoTool is a subject of the next planned blog post, stay tuned!
