ErgoHack IX: Next Steps Towards Increased Adoption

We’ve come a long way since the early days of Bitcoin, and cryptocurrencies have boomed into an industry with thousands and thousands of blockchain projects. While a vast majority of crypto projects these days can be defined as memecoins, there are teams out there trying to build value and true utility.

When looking at the immense size of the sector, there are a small number of projects that are looking to build meaningful and lasting impact in the world. We have all heard that adoption is key for mainstream users, but what does that look like and what does it mean? What are the qualities, tools, and products that mainstream users want to see from a blockchain?

The Ergo Platform has cemented its reputation as a premiere decentralized blockchain with robust security, governance features, and the ability to scale. It also offers several decentralized lending protocols, Web3 gaming, a DAO software suite (Paideia), and a new decentralized cross-chain bridge hub that currently connects Ergo, Cardano, and Bitcoin (Ethereum is set to be deployed on Rosen in the very near future).

With ErgoHack IX, the Ergo Foundation invites developers, designers, and miners to find ways to boost the accessibility of Ergo’s technology. As was mentioned earlier, blockchain and its potential to help the world will only be realized when enough people begin to access and use the tools that are readily available. So, the question remains. How can Ergo’s incredible technology be made more accessible?

At first glance, accessibility and education are key to mainstream adoption. In order to educate an entire segment of the population that has zero experience in blockchain, there is a need for concise, clear, easily understandable, and trustworthy resources. They need to be created and designed in an accessible way, and help guide a new person from beginner to expert Ergo blockchain user.

Because so much of the work behind Ergo has gone into the foundation and bones of the blockchain, there is an opportunity for designers and developers to create new and fresh approaches to the user interface and user experience. Again, accessibility is key. How can the UI/UX be improved upon so that interacting with Ergo feels seamless and easy? Can this approach also be applied to improving the experiences of Ergo’s mining community? What ways can we improve the mining experience to retain and encourage new miners to participate in securing the protocol?

ErgoHack IX is a chance to put fresh paint on one of the best projects in blockchain. The existing community of Ergonauts all know about Ergo’s innovative and secure technology, and now is the time to welcome the next generation of Ergonauts into the fold. The technology is ready to be used now, and trustlessness and decentralization of Ergo makes it a true gem in the industry.
